I Figured It Out... Maybe You Can Too!

I have been noticing so many people who have just given up on the battle of the bulge, they are living their lives as slaves to the weight and lack of mobility that goes with it. I saw one woman the other day who could not get out of her car. Really, she pulled into the handicapped spot and opened her door. She slowly stuck her leg out of the door and her foot did not reach the ground. She could not turn her body to reach out further due to the amount of fat squeezed between the steering wheel and the seat. I felt so sorry for her. I know she was suffering and I wanted to help but I did not know how. Perhaps she will chance to read this blog and it will give her a direction and some hope. So here it begins......

I have finally figured it out... ok it's about 35 years later than I wish I had figured it
out but I am happy to have learned how to treat my body. How to eat to live not live to eat. How to stop abusing food and instead enjoy it. How to exercise my way. My weight has dropped slowly but surely and I am more toned than I have ever been. I thought I might share what I have learned. If I can help one of you learn this lesson at whatever age you are my mission will be accomplished.

Understand that I have lost more weight in my life than many people weigh. Up and down the scale I have traveled. I have been on low cal, low carb, no carb, low fat, points, and even some of those useless over the counter pills too. The difficulty with most of these has been rapid weight loss and little or no serious exercise. The other problem is that when the diet was over it was over and I slipped back into old patterns of eating gaining back what I had lost and often more.

Here I will tell you what is working for me now, why it is different, and the biggest secret of all... minimizing guilt when you allow yourself a treat so you can get right back on your plan. I hope you will join me on this blog and it will help you.
